Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
He’s... he’s a lot taller than Red is, even when Red hits 16. I’m pretty sure he’s shorter than Surge, though. His build isn’t bara-class muscular, but he is pretty well built (and he has very nice arms).

2. How old is he?
40 as of FRLG.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
Depends on the situation, really. He usually carries himself pretty well, although he tends to slouch when he’s being particularly menacing.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Hahaha, well. He seems really fit, and he’s pretty in shape, but… he has a mysterious condition that’s sort of like tuberculosis, except not contagious and with bonus heart damage. Usually it manifests as chest pain that’s bad enough to knock him out, although he’s started coughing along with it pretty recently.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Fluid. I’m not sure if graceful is the word, but all his movements are extremely confident. He’s sort of like a cat in that if he does have a moment of fail he just goes on like nothing happened, because he’s pretty sure that nobody will dare to bring it up.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
Hahahaha oh man. He is incredibly attractive and is completely aware of that fact. He doesn’t brag about how attractive he is, but it’s pretty obvious that he knows. Granted, he does have a beaky nose, but… hey. Some ladies love that, and others can ignore it. (He does have eyebrows, they’re just fairly thin.)

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Slightly paler than he used to be. He has a few scars on his back, but they’re pretty hard to see.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
It’s dark brown, although in most lights it just looks black. It’s slicked back all the time, and it seems pretty straight… though, when he was younger, some bangs had a tendency to spike up even if he gelled it down.

9. What color are his eyes?
Light gray, although they look darker in most lights.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
Not really. He’s pretty normal looking.

11. What are his chief tension centers?
Probably his hands. It’s really hard to get him pissed off enough that he actually wants to punch you, though. Unless you’re Paul.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Mostly classy suits, although there is some variation between dress shirts and turtlenecks and whether or not he wears a vest/sweatervest underneath.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Yes and yes.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
Pretty much, yes. He wears his blazer to the beach.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Boxers. They are black have R embroidery on them.


Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
He doesn’t really sound like anime!Giovanni in my head, to be honest. Anime!Gio’s VA is awesome but… well… I can’t see him pulling off the dorkmode. Maybe he sounds like Sean Schemmel in Aizenmode.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
He talks very easily, and with a pretty even tone.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
Not really accent or pronunciation-related, but he tends to speak fairly politely most of the time… except when he’s being antagonistic, at which point his word choice is a lot rougher.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
English and enough Italian to impress the ladies.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
See above.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
He’s pretty good at coming up with something on the spot.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Generally eloquent, although when he’s drunk or madly in love he can go off on very strange tangents where the words are understandable, but not the content.


Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
..both. He’s very smart.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
He prefers to have time to deliberate, but he can definitely think on his feet.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
He’s on the middle ground between logical and intuitive (except when Silver is involved, at which point his logic… kind of falls by the wayside), but he’s definitely more on the practical end than the idealistic end, even if he does occasionally have some idealistic ideals.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
His mom was a mafia boss, so he probably got a lot more education than the average resident of the Pokemon world.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? GROUND TYPES~~~~~~ He’s also very knowledgeable about geology and paleontology in general. He’d like to know more about the other types to be able to counter them better, and he would like to know more about any Pokemon he doesn’t know about yet, of course! …unless they’re Zoroark.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Extrovert, definitely.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
It is extremely difficult to piss him off, so he usually seems laid back and cheerful unless he’s in Boss mode, although he’s actually pretty driven. He usually laughs off insults unless they’re related to a) Silver or b) his parenting skills.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
He’s either polite or enthusiastic or he trolls them.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Depends on which is more likely to benefit in the long run

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Fight, although he’ll run away if he’s outmatched.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
He has a fondness for incredibly lame puns, but he’ll also go for gallows humor and regular jokes if they’re not too crass. He also has a fondness for teasing people, which is usually good natured unless you’re Paul or Pryce..

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
You know, he comes off as kind of crazy, but it’s mostly from having a moral compass that points south.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
The first would be when his mom dropped him out of a helicopter and left him to fend for himself in the wilderness with just a Weedle. This is part of what made him incredibly badass (the other being training under… B-Bertha…).

The second would be becoming the boss of Team Rocket, obviously. It didn’t really change his attitude, but it was… you know… becoming the boss of Team Rocket.

After that would be the birth of his son, Silver, and the subsequent kidnapping and sudden plotdeviceitis. These did a lot to shake his previously unshakable self-confidence-it never truly left, but it did give him serious pause.

There would also be that whole getting defeated by Red thing.

Also, PDwise, running into all those Silvers.

14. What does he fear?
Bad things happening to his loved ones. By ‘loved ones’ I mean Silver in all caps and seven foot high blinking neon lights that sparkle, but… it would really extend to anyone who he deeply, deeply cares for. An extension of that is not being able to do anything to save those people.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
TO RULE THE WORLD! …well, if he had time, anyway. Right now he just wants to make sure his son(s) and the Team are taken care of.

Although, finding an Entei would be nice…

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
Any weaknesses whatsoever. Although, the family one is kind of obvious. He doesn’t like people knowing about his illness, although he can’t really help that one sometimes. It’s more of an annoyance than an OH GOD YOU KNOW MY SECRET NOW YOU MUST DIE thing though.



Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
He didn’t really know his father at all, as his mother never really said anything about him and never really specified if the relationship was anything serious or if the relationship basically only existed to produce the next heir to Team Rocket. For all Giovanni knows, he might still be alive somewhere (except, you know, pretty old).

His mother… oh Madame Boss. There was a lot of tough love there, and by ‘tough love’ I mean “Throwing you out of a helicopter is a wonderful character-building exercise, son!” (At least he didn’t break anything when that happened…) Anyway, he does respect her and acknowledges that if she hadn’t been such a hardass he’d probably be a lot less competent than he is now. …even so, he wasn’t overly upset when she died, and he wouldn’t dream of giving Silver the same treatment.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Nope!

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
Nooot really. (Children come later.)

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Bertha is… sort of there as his mentor, even though she’s terrifying. The rest of Team Rocket is somewhere between his family and his personal haremI mean.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?

…well, in PD that’s shaping up to be Cyrus. Giovanni came up to him one day and started trolling him and they magically became bros. Also Gold, somehow.

6. Does he have other close friends?
He is very fond of pretty much everyone in the upper echelons of Team Rocket except maybe Carr. Carr is… a necessary evil. At least, until he finds out that Carr blew up his ship. Also, Sird will be ouuut when he finds out she petrified his son.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
He easily makes superficial friendships, as he pretty much defaults to putting on the nice guy act when he first meets someone, but genuine stuff practically requires you to either be in Team Rocket or incredibly interesting. Otherwise, he’ll have wonderful conversations with you and then, when he decides you’re in the way, he’ll try to kill you.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
FAMILY with capslock for emphasis.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
…

UH

COME BACK IF/WHEN HGSS CONFIRMS SOMETHING IN THAT REGARD?? O-okay I think he is/was married to Silver’s mother (who, until I am jossed, I will consider to be Ariana) but damn I would rather not say anything about this in case HGSS josses me hardcore. Granted I’m usually lucky about stuff not jossing me, but you know.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
No.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
WELL THERE WAS THIS VERY LOVELY WOMAN WHO WORKED FOR HIS MOTHER. As of now… eh, not really. Although Cynthia’s pretty nice but not. Here.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
They… sort of happen upon him, but… someone who’s a good conversationalist, has a similar lack of morals, and will bash in a few kneecaps with him. Also, skilled trainers! Although really, if he likes how they look and they keep him interested, he’ll give it a shot and see if it goes anywhere.

…he does like nice legs, though.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
…SILVERRRRRRRRRR okay um. Silver is pretty much the big sore spot in his life, and to be honest he doesn’t really know how to deal with the versions who hate him. Although… he can sort of understand, given everything he’s heard about his counterparts from other universes. And he has a huge complex about being a terrible parent, even though he does So… he sort of tries to adopt them, which leads to him sort of… collecting them like cats.

Only one straight-up completely OU Special!Silver has showed up so far, and they didn’t… get very far as far as reunions go. MAYBE ANOTHER ONE WILL eventually.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?

LOL PRYCE, LOL PAUL actually no Paul’s too low on the scale to be considered either or. Well. Until he broke Rocket!Silver’s wrist. Red is his main rival, in that he's the only trainer who managed to beat him who wasn't Bertha and... well... Giovanni admires Red as a rival.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale? He’s about a 2 on the Kinsey scale. He’s mostly attracted to women, but he’s… very openminded.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
He enjoys it very much, and is okay with casual relationships with people who aren’t his partner! He doesn’t really see it as something that’s only for his ~*~true love~*~, but he doesn’t do one-night stands with people he’s known for half an hour. He has to have pretty good chemistry with them first. It’s not important so much as it’s like a really nice dessert. Nice to have, and if it’s not too much trouble he’ll go for some, but he can do without it.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Turn-ons: nice hips, nice legs, battling prowess, deviousness, intelligence, dominance from his partner(in the bedroom, at least), and fairly drawn-out foreplay. Also, tsundere, especially in women. (I mean, Silver had to get all the tsuntsun somewhere…)

Turn-offs: Wibbly moeblobs, people who act like Carr, people who go too fast, supposedly legal girls who look ten, and Sird. He’s also really not fond of roleplay.

Weird habits: He prefers other people to initiate things. He’s not uneasy about initiating things himself, but he finds it a lot more enjoyable that way. He also likes pillowtalk and cuddli-embracing afterwards.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type? His birthday’s August 1, so he’s a Leo! Which… fits pretty well, actually.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA if he met God he’d try to catch it. He knows legendary Pokemon exist, he just doesn’t believe in them as deities. They’re just really strong things that he wants to control.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
He actually does sort of have a moral code. Sort of. Basically, he is firmly against violently disposing of subordinates who have failed him unless they’ve outright betrayed him, and he does do his best to treat his subordinates nicely because he’s quite convinced that Machiavelli was wrong. He will tease them and/or seriously get on their cases if they fuck up badly enough, but he’s generally not a bad guy to work for.

He doesn’t hold grudges against people who’ve defeated him, and usually treats those sorts of people with utmost respect. If he gives his word to someone, he will keep it, and if terms are set at the beginning of a battle he’ll stick to them even if he loses. He’ll also occasionally save his enemies, but it’s mostly only so he can get something out of it.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
He’s usually curious, although he finds most ideologies fairly quaint unless they’re GIOVANNI IS AWESOME, I THINK WE SHOULD MAKE HIM DICTATOR FOR LIFE.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
He’s automatically biased against anyone who tries to harm his son for… obvious reasons. Other than that… nah not really.



Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
SO FILTHY RICH

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
He’s always been an upper class mafia type.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
HE HAS A BITCHIN’ MANSION although it hasn’t really been used in a while. It’s not run-down, just… unlived in. He never minded the occasional Rocket showing up, though.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Extravagant engineering projects, mad science, other research, and expeditions that will benefit him in the long run.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
HE IS AWESOME AT BEING A MAFIA BOSS AND HE WOULD NEVER WANT TO DO ANYTHING ELSE.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
He likes collecting geological samples, studying Ground Pokemon, writing about ground Pokemon, athletically training both himself and his Pokemon, plotting Team Rocket’s next big job, and embroidery.

He only skips meals when there’s a big job going on and he doesn’t have time. He can survive on just about anything that isn’t poisonous, though he’s more partial to the fancy end of the spectrum than the roasting a Pidgey over a small fire end of the spectrum. He does like a glass of wine ever so often, but not to excess.
